relapse 重新犯錯 lapse的意思是失誤，過失

et cetera etc的全寫，有其他或等等的意思，來自拉丁字，et＝和 cetera＝其餘

shimmering 閃爍的，常用在形容光線
The green gems reflected the sunshine, shimmering through the clear water.

on a silver platter 一個人得到很貴重的東西，但是並不是靠他自己的努力得來的

bon appetit 敬請享用，來自法語，飯前可以說

casual 非正式/隨性的，可以形容穿著 casual wear＝休閒風格
Everyone was in jeans and casual gear.

coaster 杯墊

jeopardize 意思是使處於危險境地，或危及、損害
She knew that by failing her finals she could jeopardize her whole future.

made fool of myself 字面上指把自己變成笨蛋，講這句話通常很後悔怎麼會那麼蠢做出了這樣的事

bump into someone 偶遇/突然撞見某人，run into也是一樣的意思

make yourself at home 招待客人來家裡的時候，為了不要讓客人感到拘謹而這麼說，若當客人想要做某件事情比如說想喝水或吃桌上的零食時，也可以說be my guest或help yourself，都是比較口語的不用客氣

knock back a drink 豪邁地喝含酒精的飲料
